Blog Assignment #1
Communication is the basis of human interaction.
Communication allows us to share ideas, collaborate, educate, and form relationships.
Communication comes in many forms. My opinion is the accessibility for
different mediums of communication and the speed and distance in which we can
communicate benefits the human race as a whole.
In the past, the
mediums of communication were limited. Human contact, oral speech, and body language
were the main mediums for expressing ideas and communicating between humans
throughout history. This era of history in terms of communication is considered
the ‘pre-agricultural society’ stage, as noted in the slideshows. As we have developed
through the years, so have our mediums for communication. Written forms of
communication were created during the ‘agricultural society’ stage, but were
limited to the ‘elite’ class. The ‘industrial society’ stage brought upon the
printing press, along with literacy across a majority of the masses. The ‘information
society’ stage has brought upon the most diverse mediums of communication.
From radio, to the
telephone, to the internet, these mediums have made communication easier and
quicker among humans across the planet. Technology and the development of human
discovery has made communication more accessible than ever, which I believe has
only made the human race more intelligent and efficient in terms of production,
growth, and diversity.
Hi Jacob,
ReplyDeleteIt is mind blowing to think back about how people used to live without the technologies we have now. Blessed the engineers and the scientists for these inventions. Great work!
ReplyDeleteHi Jacob,
Very nice and well written post. I always think about how technology has drastically revolutionized how we communicate with others, and has made us an increasingly connected society. Having parents who immigrated to the US from Nigeria in the late 90s, I grew up seeing them purchase international calling cards to call family overseas. Now, they can simply dial their number on a smartphone and call them! Overall, I'm really grateful to be living in an age where technology is playing an important role in connecting and unifying the globe in many ways.

Hello Jacob,
ReplyDeleteYour blog post was very interesting and I agree with it 100%. Technology has definitely indeed changed pretty much the way we do any and everything. Before the use of technology, everything was pretty much set in stone and standard and one way to do everything and now with the coming of technology, you can do anything any type of way now.
